Shoot of Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer OMG2 stalled after crew members test positive for COVID
OMG 2's shoot stalled due to Covid outbreak
For the last two years, lives had turned upside down as the entire world grappled with COVID. Life, as we knew it changed completely. Modes of entertainment changed too and the entertainment industry in India adapted to the new normal, much like everyone else. But, despite all the precautions being taken, there have been COVID outbreaks on set. Earlier, COVID broke out on the sets of Ram Setu and even Akshay Kumar contracted the virus. Now, as a crude reminder that it is far from being over, another shoot has been stalled after several members of the team contracted the virus. Incidentally, this time too it's an Akshay Kumar movie. We are talking about OMG 2.
According to a report in Mid Day, several crew members of the film had tested positive for the last 5 days and this has forced the producer to stall shoot for two weeks. It started off with one member testing positive last week. A source said, “Everyone tested negative, after which the shooting resumed. In two days’ time, however, three people started showing symptoms. The shoot was promptly put on hold, and a fresh round of tests was organised. At the time, six people were found to have contracted the virus. Both Pankaj and Yami tested negative, as did the director, Amit Rai. But it was only wise to control the outbreak at this stage, and the makers did not waste any time in calling off the shoot.”
The shoot is scheduled to resume by October end. Akshay Kumar had been shooting for Rakshabandhan during this time and Pankaj Triupathi and Yami Gautam were shooting their parts of the film.
