Shooting Intimate Scenes Will Never Be The Same Again Post Coronavirus Pandemic, Says Siddharth Anand Kumar

The entire country is under a lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak. The lockdown has been imposed by the government of India in order to curb the spread of the virus. Amidst all of this hullaballoo, the film industry has suffered huge losses and is continuing to do so as the cinema halls are shut and shootings have been stalled too. All the actors and actresses are inside their homes practising social distancing. And it is going to remain like that for a while. Even after the lockdown is lifted, people won’t really come any closer. They will be maintaining the social distancing and this is surely going to impact films because the actors won’t be able to come close to each other to depict an emotion plausibly.

Siddharth Anand Kumar who is the vice-president, films and events Saregama India, told Mid-Day that they would be employing the blocking technique (where each actor or actress shoots his portion separately) to film intiimate scenes. He has been quoted as saying, "We hope to take the project on floors in July. Since the film revolves around a couple who pose as siblings, some amount of intimacy is crucial to the story. We will choreograph those scenes in advance, and use blocking to depict the kisses."
