Shraddha Kapoor bagged Chaalbaaz in London because of her impressive performance in a scene in Baaghi

Shraddha Kapoor’s next project ChaalBaaz In London has been making headlines ever since director Pankaj Parashar announced that the film is not a sequel to Sridevi’s 1989 super hit comedy. The filmmaker has clarified that only the soundtrack is a little similar, as T-Series has the music rights of the original. The upcoming project will feature Shraddha in her first ever double role and will be shot 80% in London. However, the team is still not sure when they will be able to take off, due to the pandemic.

Well, in a recent chat with ETimes, Parashar revealed why he felt Shraddha was the perfect choice for this project. He was quoted saying, “Shraddha has 64M followers on Insta, isn't she hugely popular? But it is always the performance of an actor that he/she has given in a film or audition that gravitates the maker towards the actor. I loved Shraddha in that scene from Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Baaghi' (directed by Ahmed Khan) wherein she changes from one character- two diametrically opposite behaviours- to another in a flash of a second.”

He went on to add that he knows Shraddha’s family very well, so it wasn’t tough to reach her. Talking about how the actress reacted when he offered her the film, Parashar shared, “But let me tell you she just freaked out when I had given her a narration for barely 30 minutes. She was bowled over by the action parts too, for which she will soon start preparing.” He further revealed that Shraddha’s father Shakti Kapoor, who was a part of Sridevi’s ChaalBaaz, will also be making a cameo appearance in ChaalBaaz In London. Remember his iconic character Balma?
