SHRC Delivers Verdict On Rhea's Mortuary Visit, Says Mumbai Police & Cooper Hospital Did Not Breach Protocol

Rhea Chakraborty has been facing issues from all corners ever since the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Some time ago Rhea’s visit to the mortuary at Cooper Hospital was condoned heavily with claims that it was a breach in protocol.

Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission has now delivered its verdict on the matter post-investigation giving both Mumbai Police and the hospital a clean chit. The actress who was staying with the late actor in his Bandra residence and left him on June 8 was reported to have visited Cooper Hospital’s mortuary to see the late actor’s body which was kept there before being handed over to his sister Meetu Singh.

Rhea apparently touched Sushant’s feet and whispered ‘Sorry babu’ on her visit and this caused an uproar as the deceased actor’s family questioned the hospital for breaching protocol by allowing Rhea in who wasn’t even allowed at the actor’s funeral.

After a detailed hearing, SHRC Chairperson MA Sayeed disposed off the suo moto petition filed against Rhea’s visit. The commission’s inquiry was restricted to finding out if the meeting took place in either the post mortem area and storage room which would have amounted to a breach.

Statements from the Dean of the hospital and attending doctors were recorded in the absence of CCTV footage and it was concluded that the actress must have seen the actor’s body in the waiting area where visitors to the deceased are allowed.
