Shweta Drug Allegations On Bollywood Is Half-Truth

Shweta Tripathi Feels Kangana Ranaut’s Drug Allegations On Bollywood Will Make For A Great Script, Calls It ‘Incorrect Generalisation’

From Drug abuse to casting couch, recently Kangana Ranaut made some shocking revelations on her social media. While some have sided her, there are many actors who have fied her statements.

Actress Shweta Tripathi who was recently seen in Netflix’s latest Cargo doesn’t quite agree to Kangana Ranaut’s statement about 99 percent of the Bollywood film industry being on drugs. In a recent interview with IANS she says it is an ‘incorrect generalisation’ and also adds that such an assertion is “half the truth.”

Gone Game actress Shweta Tripathi stated that Kangana’s statements about actresses sleeping around and outsiders making space for themselves in the “big bad world of cinema” would make for an interesting script but that is not how Bollywood functions.

IANS quoted the actress as saying, "I think narratives doing the rounds that half of the people of the film industry are drug addicts, that female actresses are sleeping around to get work and outsiders can make their space in the 'big bad world of cinema' only after compromising make for great and interesting scripts. No, that is not how we work here in Bollywood."

She further told the agency, “Trust me when I say this, no one is forcefully putting drugs in our mouths! If a youngster wants to get into drugs, they will do it anyway whether in Mumbai or in any small town of the country. It has nothing to do with the city of Mumbai.”
