Sidharth Malhotra-Tara Sutaria Reunite For A Remake Of Sonam Kapoor-Abhishek Bachchan’s Hit Track Masakali

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directorial Delhi-6 is a true gem. Starring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, the musical drama won many hearts and was especially praised for its mesmerizing score and soundtrack, composed by A. R. Rahman. The track Masakali, in particular, won many hearts and soon became a chartbuster. Much to our delight, the very talented Tanishk Bagchi is recreating the song for a music video with Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria, produced by Bhushan Kumar.

Featuring Sonam, Abhishek and a white pigeon named Masakali, the original video truly is breathtaking. Talking about the same to Mumbai Mirror, Bhushan Kumar shared, “AR Rahman created a musical gem in 'Masakali' which has been a personal favourite for years. The song is still a rage among youngsters, so I thought it might be a good idea to present it in a new fashion. We got Sidharth and Tara for the song as they look good together on screen and they infused life into the chartbuster.”

Sidharth also opened up about the track and revealed that it is relevant to the lockdown that has been initiated amid the coronavirus outbreak. He said, “We have unintentionally made a song revolving around two people cooped up indoors and still doing a lot of masti.” Tara, on the other hand, shared, “It was a breeze. It's such a catchy song despite being a midtempo tune. Bhushanji and Tanishk have reimagined the 2.0 version beautifully while Tulsi and Sachet have given it a fun, sexy spin, which I love.”

Masakali 2.0 will be directed by Adil Shaikh and sung by Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon. It will be interesting to see Sidharth and Tara share screen space once again after their 2019 action drama Marjaavaan. The two are great actors and their on-screen chemistry really impressed the audience.
