Sidharth Malhotra Was To Make His Debut Before Student Of The Year, He Prepped For Eight Months Before The Film Was Shelved

Sidharth Malhotra is basking in the success of his recent film Marjaavaan. Playing the quintessential hero straight out an 80’s film, the actor is winning hearts with his performance and the movie is certainly bringing in solid numbers at the box office. The actor’s seven-year journey in Bollywood is full of ups and downs but he is ensuring that he doesn’t get typecast and is trying new roles and characters with every film he signs.

With no filmy family at his back, Sidharth has garnered all the fame and name at his own accord and his start in the movie world was as bumpy as it gets before he was introduced as one of the three debutants in Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year back in 2012. Recalling his modeling days Sidharth revealed that had actually signed a film and even prepped for it for months before the project was called off and he struggled to even make rent. Sidharth was approached for the role through his modeling agency in Delhi.

Talking about this film that he was to debut with, Sidharth told Pinkvilla in an interview, "I was prepping for it for about six-eight months. In the initial few days, I stayed in their office and I was staying there when there was an office going on. I was sleeping on the sofa for the first few days. But that film never took off and I had to give that place up. Then the real struggle started again. You are finding people to stay with, you can't afford rent."

The struggling days are way behind him and his film Marjaavaan is only paving his route to success ahead.
