Sidharth Malhotra's Thadam Remake Shelved Indefinitely After Actor Rethinks Decision? Read Details...

Sidharth Malhotra had been pretty pumped about the Thadam remake, where fans would get to see the actor in two avatars. Right before the lockdown, the film had been announced. But now, it seems like the film has been put on hold, indefinitely.

If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then the reason is Sidharth Malhotra. A source told the portal, “Sidharth was very excited to act in a double role thriller, and however, the lockdown gave him the time to introspect his choices. He felt that the adaptation was not up to the mark and hence, from August-end he sat down on the script himself with his director, Vardhan Ketkar. They churned out multiple drafts for the adaptation, however; none of them could fit well as per the Hindi sensibilities. Sid feels the audience consumption pattern for films will change in the pandemic and doesn't want to sign on for anything that he has even the slightest of doubt on, as he feels responsible about the content he gets out for his fans and cine-goers That’s when Sidharth and his producer partners, Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar decided to put the film on hold.”

However, Sidharth wants to collaborate with Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar and the same source adds that there would be more clarity on the matter by March-end. As of now, Sidharth will start the shoot of an untitled espionage thriller that will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala by mid-December.
