Sonakshi Sinha locked for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heera Mandi? Here's what we know...

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been planning on making Heera Mandi for a long time now. Bollywood insiders have called it the director's magnum opus and names of celebs like Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi have also come up. Now, it is being said that Sonakshi has been locked in as the cast of Heera Mandi.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Sonakshi will play one of the leads in the project. A source close to the development was quoted saying, “More than Sonakshi herself it’s her father who has been most keen that she work with Bhansali. Sonakshi did a Bhansali production earlier Rowdy Rathod. She will now be playing one of the protagonists in Heera Mandi.”

The source further added, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants the songs music and dances in Heera Mandi to be unique. While it is true that he is inspired by Pakeezaah he wants Heera Mandi to have a completely different look, never seen before in any cinema on the kotha culture.” That is the reason Sonakshi would apparently start taking Kathak lessons. There has been no official confirmation of the same. 

Sonakshi will next be seen in Reema Kagti's Fallen. Apart from her, it is also said that Huma Qureshi has been finalised for Heera Mandi.
