The coronavirus scare and the pandemic has been like a test for every one of us. Many have been battling financial difficulties due to the lockdown that ensued and its effects can be felt even now after it has been partially lifted. Not just that, many actors too have met the same fate and some are pleading for aid. One amongst them is veteran actor Anupam Shyam, known for his portrayal of Thakur Sajjan in Pratigya, who has been admitted to the ICU of Lifeline Hospital in Goregaon for a kidney transplant and his family has appealed for help. Even CINTAA took up the cause. Now, Sonu Sood has come to his aid.

Taking to Twitter, he replied to CINTAA's tweet and said that he and his team are already in touch with the actor and his family. He wrote, "In touch with them."

Earlier, Anupam Shyam's brother, who lives with him, had told TOI, "Anupam bhaiyya has been diabetic for almost 40 years and also has high blood pressure. A few years ago, he had also suffered a heart problem and the doctors had then told him that he had a blockage. He was put on heavy medication, which harmed his kidneys. It resulted in pulmonary edema. He was required to undergo dialysis regularly, but he stopped it about a year ago due to money crunch. His condition deteriorated and I got him admitted to the hospital on Monday night. He has exhausted all his savings on medical expenses. I borrowed some money from people for his dialysis around 10 days ago. The doctors have suggested a kidney transplant. We have no clue how we will get it done, as he doesn’t have enough money for it.” Sonu Sood is a real hero, isn't he? Kudos to his great work. It has also been reported that actor Aamir Khan and Manoj Bajpayee have also come forward to help him. May he get well soon.
