Sonu Sood Reacts To Being Called A 'Habitual Offender' By BMC In Case Of Alleged Illegal Construction On Residential Property

Sonu Sood of late has been embroiled in some trouble with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation recently. The actor who received a notice for alleged illegal construction of hotel on a residential complex challenged it with a petition filed in the Bombay High Court last week.

The BMC in response called him a ‘habitual offender’ who “wants to enjoy the commercial proceeds of the unauthorised work and therefore once again started reconstructing the demolished portion in order to make it operational as a hotel albeit illegally and without permission from the License department,” in an affidavit.

The Dabangg actor has now responded to BMC allegation of his ‘habitual’ offences and told ABP News in an interview, "I respect the BMC, who have made our Mumbai 'amazing'. I have followed all the rules from my side and if there is a scope for improvement, I will try to correct it. I have filed a petition for the case in court. I will sincerely follow the instructions given by the court and walk on the same path. I will obey all laws and regulations."

BMC claimed that Sonu was initially sent a notice by the BMC in September 2018 which he paid no heed to and continued illegal construction work at the sight. The BMC then demolished the said property in November has claimed that Sood later started work on restoring the demolished portions.

The BMC further claimed that there is no license issued to Sonu or his wife to run a hotel at the property and even claimed that they don’t have papers to prove that they are the owners.

The Bombay High Court is yet to deliver its verdict on the matter.
