Sooryavanshi: Akshay Kumar Starrer Postponed Again After Surge In COVID-19 Cases?

Soooryavanshi seems to have been jinxed. Last year, it was all set for a grand release on Gudi Parwa, when the COVID-19 outbreak happened in India. Soon, the pandemic took over and the release of the film had to be pushed. This is a major film, which we had all been eagerly waiting for. Finally, the makers announced a new release date this year- 30th April and our joy knew no bounds. However, with the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases again, it looks like the film would be pushed again.

According to a report in ETimes, Sooryavanshi's release would be pushed again. A source told the daily, “With the suspension of night shows due to night curfews in cities like Mumbai and an atmosphere of uncertainty, it’s a huge risk for a big-budget film to release in theatres at this point. Given people’s safety concerns, the film is unlikely to release on April 30.”

Some have claimed that the film might opt for an OTT release since it is being delayed again and again. However, given the scale of the film, OTT won't be able to do justice to it. Reliance Entertainment, who is producing the film, has not given out a statement yet. Well, all we can do is just hope for the best!
