Sooryavanshi: Makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer are eyeing an Independence Day release?

Last week, Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar announced that his spy thriller Bell Bottom will arrive on the big screens on 27^th July. Well, it seems like the film has opened gates of the theatres for other much awaited projects, because makers of Sooryavanshi are now eyeing a theatrical release for the cop drama in August. Also starring Katrina Kaif, the film has been helmed by Rohit Shetty and has been ready for release since over a year. However, it was pushed again and again due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Well, in the latest report shared by Bollywood Bubble, a source revealed, “With Akshay Kumar announcing the release date for Bell Bottom, the filmmakers are now waiting to see how the opening of theatres will be received by the audience. In any case, with Independence Day approaching, the producers and makers are of the opinion that Sooryavanshi might be a perfect release for the date. However, with Rohit Shetty in Cape Town, a final decision is yet to be taken. But, if everything goes well, Sooryavanshi might finally see the light of the day.”

For the uninitiated, Shetty is in Cape Town, South Africa shooting for the 11^th season of his stunt reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. The contestants are expected to travel back today, so let’s hope we get a final release date for Sooryavanshi soon!
