Special Ops Actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal Passes Away Due To COVID-19, Ashoke Pandit, Rohit Bose Roy Pay Tribute

The COVID-19 pandemic has returned with full force as the second wave hit India. It has been deadlier and more infectious than the first and the nation is seeing an acute crisis of health infrastructure. While the aam janta has been literally gasping for breath amidst a shortage of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders, celebs too aren't unaffected. Today, yet another T and Bollywood personality passes away due to the deadly virus. It is none other than Bikramjeet Kanwarpal.

Bikramjeet, who had essayed some popular characters like G.P. Mathur in Special Ops and Niketan Malhotra In Yeh Hai Chahatein and also played Shah Rukh Khan's senior in Jab Tak Hai Jaan succumbed to the deadly virus today. He was 52 years old. He was a retired Army Officer, who joined film post his retirement to fulfill his childhood dream.

Ashoke Pandit took to his social media to pay tribute to the departed. He wrote, “Sad to hear about the demise of actor Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal this morning due to #Covid. A retired army officer, Kanwarpal had played supporting roles in many films and television serials. Heartfelt condolences to his family & near ones. ॐ शान्ति !”

Rohit Bose Roy also paid his last tribute and wrote, "And we lose another one... The happiest, most gentlemanly, always positive and smiling Major Bikramjeet... RIP"
