Stree Rog Vibhaag: Not Bhumi Or Alaya F But Ayushmann Khurrana To Romance Mrunal Thakur In His Next

Ayushmann Khurrana fans can rejoice and they have every reson to do so. The actor, who played the character of a gay man in Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan earlier this year, would be seen essaying the role of a gynecologist in one of his next. What’s even better is that the lead actress opposite him has also been finalized and it is none other than Mrunal Thakur.

Earlier, Bhumi Pednekar and Jawaani Jaaneman actress Alaya F were in consideration for the film. According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the development of the film has been quoted saying, “The makers were looking at someone to essay the female lead's part opposite Ayushmann. They wanted a girl who would look convincing carrying off a completely desi character. They were indeed in talks with Bhumi Pednekar and Alaya F, but we hear things didn't materialise with them. Now, they have roped in Mrunal Thakur for the role and she has also given her nod to the project.”

That would be an interesting pair to watch out for, isn’t it? Stree Rog Vibhag would also have a social message and Mrunal will play a girl on the run who takes shelter at Ayushmann’s character’s residence and turns his life upside down. The actress has several other films in her kitty as well. She will be seen in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan opposite Farhan Akhtar, in Thadam remake opposite Sidharth Malhotra, Aankh Micholi opposite Abhimanyu Dassani and also in Jersey remake opposite Shahid Kapoor. Ayushmann , on the other hand, will be seen in Gulaabo Sitaabo alongside Amitabh Bachchan and an action thriller directed by Anubhav Sinha.
