Sudhir Mishra On Pehle Aap Janab: "Rishiji Kept Telling Me 'Let's Make The Movie'; That It Didn't Get Made Is One Of My Biggest Regrets"

Sudhir Mishra had planned a film titled Mehrunissa. The film was to have Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. It was back in 2012 and it was later renamed Pehle Aap Janab. But now, with Rishi Kapoor passing away earlier this year, this remains a missed opportunity and the director couldn't be more regretful about it.

Sudhir Mishra On Pehle Aap Janab: "Rishiji Kept Telling Me &squot;Let&squot;s Make The Movie&squot;; That It Didn&squot;t Get Made Is One Of My Biggest Regrets"

Talking to Mid Day, the director said, "Till the end, Rishiji kept telling me, 'Let's make the movie'. That it didn't get made is one of my biggest regrets. I have the script; Nikkhil Advani was to be the producer. Now, we will try and re-imagine the film."

He also added that he can't think of anyone filling in Rishi Kapoor's shoes in this film that would explore the friendship between two men. He said, "I can't imagine anyone in Rishi Kapoor's place. So, now, the story has to be rewritten; the central idea may be partially retained."

Sudhir Mishra earned some rave reviews for his recent OTT film, Serious Men, which starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He is right now working for a web-series for a period drama set in the 1840s. We wonder what the future of Pehle Aap Janab holds.
