Suniel Shetty On Nepotism Says He Hasn't Forced His Kids Athiya And Ahan Into Films: 'People Have Seen Something In Them'

The nepotism debate has come far from the point of just talking. People are venting their anger on star kids after Sushant Singh Rajput’s unnatural death to the point that even upcoming films featuring them have started to receive flak online even before the release. Actor Suniel Shetty has now spoken on the whole debate and questioned if it is wrong for his kids to dream about being actors just because he is an actor.

Talking to Times Of India, Suneil said, “This whole talk about nepotism hurts. It is something that is there in every field. Is my son or daughter not allowed to dream of becoming an actor just because their father is an actor? Does that mean the dream of that child needs to be squashed?”

On being asked if he has discussed nepotism with his kids Athiya and Ahan he says that they feel they are a part of it. He emphasized that both his kids were given work from outside and he didn’t launch them. “It is not that I have forced them into it. It is because people have seen something in them that they have been given an opportunity. Their struggle will continue if they don’t deliver. They might have that advantage of being a star kid in their first film but after that, it is the audience, the subject of their films, their co-actors who finally make or break their career,” he added.
