Sunny Kaushal And Radhika Madan To Come Together For Shiddat, Also Stars Mohit Raina And Diana Penty

Karan Johar had planned to make a film called Shiddat for a very long time. In fact, he had even decided to cast Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. Shiddat did get made, but as Kalank, and with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The film tanked and fans would see Ranveer and Kareena in Takht that will release in April 2020. But guess what, now Shiddat is also being made but by a different maker.

Yes, Shiddat will now be made by Dinesh Vijan. The film, that has been announced today, will star Radhika Madan, Sunny Kaushal, Diana Penty and Mohit Raina. The film will be directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Kunal will be returning as a director after 5 years. His last film was the Emraan Hashmi starrer Raja Natwarlal.

“It has two parallel tracks focussing on the journey of both couples. The story has been written by Sridhar Raghavan and Dheeraj Rattan with dialogues by Dheeraj as well," Mumbai Mirror reported. Shiddat will go on floors in September and will be shot across Punjab and parts of Paris and London.

Dinesh Vijan, talking about making a love story, “Well I got married recently, so I’m feeling like it, but on a serious note in this day and age where love is taken so lightly, it’s difficult to imagine the lengths people would go to for it. Shiddat is not only a story about love but the distance one travels for it. The passion that overcomes maybe all senses or logic to do things that you wouldn’t usually imagine, the belief in something with all your heart and the drive to achieve it — that’s Shiddat.”

Sunny is currently busy filming Bhangra Pa Le with Shriya Pilgaonkar. He will also be seen in Kabir Khan's '83 with Ranveer Singh. Radhika is currently filming Hindi Medium's sequel, Angrezi Medium, where she will play Irrfan Khan's daughter. Diana Penty and Mohit Raina were last seen in Happy Phirr Bhag Jaegi and Uri: The Surgical Strike respectively.
