Soon after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case was handed over to the CBI, the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s Whatsapp chats revealed a new drug angle in the case. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) began a probe into the case and recently conducted a series of raids. Two people were arrested and the interrogation eventually led the NCB to alleged drug peddler and Bandra resident Zaid Vilatra. After questioning him, NCB officials learned of another suspected drug peddler named Abdel Basit Parihar, who also resides in Bandra.

The two allegedly supplied marijuana to Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda and domestic help Dipesh Sawant and also had links to Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty. Based on the information collected from Vilatra and Parihar, NCB officials confronted Showik and Samuel Miranda and arrested them on Friday. Well according to latest reports, Vilatra and Parihar have retracted their statement given to NCB and have also claimed before a court that the statements were recorded forcefully by NCB officials.
