Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Deepika Padukone Claims ‘Maal’, ‘Hash’ Were Code Names For Cigarettes

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s name recently emerged in Narcotics Control Bureau’s drug probe related to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise. Her Whatsapp chats from 2017 with her manager and employee of Talent Management company KWAN, Karishma Prakash, were recovered which featured a conversation about arranging ‘maal’, ‘hash’. Deepika was summoned by the NCB and was interrogated on 26th September, followed by Sushant’s Kedarnath co-star Sara Ali Khan and Chhichhore co-star Shraddha Kapoor.

In these chats, ‘D’ had written: “K...Maal you have?” She had also clarified, “Hash na? Not weed.” Buzz recently suggested that Deepika admitted to the chats on drugs with her manager Karishma during interrogation. Well according to the latest report in India Today, Deepika also told NCB that the words ‘Maal’ and ‘Hash’ were allegedly used as code words for cigarettes. While ‘Hash’ reportedly means a thick cigarette, ‘Maal’ means a thin cigarette. Interestingly, Karishma stated the same when she was being questioned.

When Deepika was summoned by the NCB, she was in Goa shooting for Shakun Batra’s next, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. She cut her shoot short and took a charter flight back to Mumbai with husband and actor Ranveer Singh. It was reported that Deepika broke down three times during the interrogation.
