Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Rhea Chakraborty Files Petition To High Court To Not Dismiss Case Against The Late Actor's Sisters

Rhea Chakraborty, who had been the girlfriend of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the prime accused in his death case, has filed a petition to the Bombay High Court to not dismiss the case against the actor's sisters. The plea to not dismiss the case was filed on Tuesday.

Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer submitted an affidavit to the court which read, “Rajput died merely five days after he obtained the said prescription, wherein he was unlawfully prescribed psychotropic substances at the behest of his sister (Priyanka) and Dr Tarun Kumar.”

In a leaked WhatsApp chat, it was seen that Sushant's sister had procured some medicines for him to deal with mental health issues that he had been going through. Rhea Chakraborty had filed an FIR to the Bandra Police to look into the matter.

On the other hand, fearing arrest, Sushant's sisters have moved the HC for an early hearing. According to a report in India Today, Sushant's sisters Meetu and Priyanka's lawyer have also submitted a petition to court. It read, “A bare perusal of the complaint along with the FIR shows that the statements made there do not make out any cognisable offence. The lodging of the complaint by Chakraborty was nothing but a feeble attempt on her part to scuttle the investigations against her and blame Rajput’s family members for his suicide, as she was on the verge of being arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).”

The court has directed the next hearing to be held on November 4th. The court has also directed the CBI and Mumbai Police to file their affidavits in reply to the plea.
