Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Rhea Chakraborty's Bail Plea Rejected; To Be Taken To Byculla Jail Today

A week ago, actress Rhea Chakraborty's brother Showik and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on drug charges with links to Sushant’s case. Well, after 3 consecutive days of questioning, the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea was also arrested by the NCB after she allegedly confessed to procuring drugs for Sushant during interrogation. She reportedly broke down after being confronted with her brother Showik. At 7.30 pm on 8th September, NCB produced the actress before a magistrate court via video conferencing.

According to Showik and Miranda’s statements, every delivery and payment of drugs was in conscious knowledge of Rhea. Sushant’s house help Dipesh Sawant also disclosed that he used to receive drugs for the actor on his and Rhea’s directions. Latest reports have revealed that Rhea’s bail plea was rejected by the court and she has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody. In a report shared by India Today it has been stated that after spending the night at the NCB office, Rhea will be moved to the Byculla Jail at 10 am today.

Reports also suggest that during the interrogation, Rhea told the NCB, “Whatever I did, I did for Sushant.” While a senior official of NCB clarified that no drugs were found on her, they apparently had enough evidence to arrest her. In the court documents, NCB has stated that Rhea “is an active member of the drug syndicate connected with drug supplies”.
