Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, and cook Dipesh Sawant have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after their drug links were established. After the arrest, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde had applied for bail. However, it was rejected by the Mumbai sessions court. Rhea's lawyer stated that now they would be approaching the High Court but things will seemingly be done with very measured steps.

E-times has it that in a statement, Maneshinde said they are not in a hurry to file a bail application in the Bombay High Court. Rhea and the rest have been sent to judicial custody until 22nd September and the actress is currently lodged in Byculla women’s jail. Maneshinde had earlier stated that the next course of action will be decided based on the verdict of the sessions court.
