Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Sisters Move Bombay High Court To Quash Rhea Chakraborty's FIR Against Them

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh moved Bombay High Court on Tuesday in order to quash the plea made by Rhea Chakraborty to the Mumbai police that accused them of forgery and procuring fake medical prescriptions for their brother Sushant Singh Rajput.

It was on 7 September, ‘20 that the FIR had been lodged in the Bandra police station by Rhea Chakraborty who was previously in custody pertaining to the Bollywood drug cartel and has been currently granted bail.

A division bench of Justice SS Shinde and MS Karnik took up the plea on Tuesday and said that there was no hurry for the hearing. In the complaint Rhea Chakraborty accused Sushant’s sisters of allowing Sushant to take drugs prescribed by Dr Tarun Kumar. In the FIR,  Tarun had been accused of providing a bogus prescription for procuring them, in order to treat the anxiety issues of the late actor which is prohibited by the NDPS act.

And now, Sushant’s sisters have filed a petition stating that the FIR was filed based on media reportage and that it was replete with several irregularities and discrepancies. Her sisters also claimed that there was a delay of 90 days and that the medicines were prescribed on 8 June which was also the day when Sushant asked Rhea to leave his house. The petition said, “A bare perusal of the complaint and the FIR shows it does not make out any cognisable offence. The drugs that have sought to be allegedly given by Dr Tarun Kumar are not banned drugs.”
