    Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Tells Police The Actor Was Never 'Dropped' From Any Of His Projects

    Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recorded his statement with the Mumbai Police in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The 34-year-old actor was offered two film by Bhansali but unfortunately both times they failed to work together. The director was questioned by the police for three hours and according to revealed why Sushant couldn’t do the two films.

    Sanjay Leela Bhansali was quizzed about his films Ramleela and Bajirao Mastani which he had originally offered to Sushant. According to a Zee News  report Bahansali told the police, "I approached Sushant twice - during 'Ram-Leela' (2013) and later for 'Bajirao Mastani' (2015) - however, during that period he was busy prepping for 'Paani'. As a director, I wanted his full attention and dedication on my projects, but owing to his tight schedule, he himself rejected both the films. After which,  I never spoke to Sushant about the films."

    It was earlier reported that Sushant was upset when had to decline Bhansali for Ramleela due to his contract with YRF. The filmmaker went on to sign Ranveer Singh for both films.

    Bhansali also revealed that he had first Sushant during the casting for his TV serial Saraswatichandra in 2012 for which Sushant didn’t get the part but he was impressed with his acting. "Sushant was never dropped from any of my films nor was he replaced,” the filmmaker added.

    Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur who was the director for Paani is likely next to be questioned. Paani was to be Sushant’s third film with YRF but the project failed to take off.
