Sushant Singh Rajput’s GF Rhea Chakraborty Reveals How He Got Rumi Jaffery’s Next Film; Was Very Happy About It

A while after Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise, filmmaker Rumi Jaffery had revealed that the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was always there for him. He had also claimed that she took care of the actor even when he was suffering from depression. The filmmaker had also stated that the three were going to collaborate for his next rom com, which was meant to go on floors in May this year. It was in the pre-production stage but work came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a chat with India Today, Rhea has claimed that Sushant used to drop her and often visit her at Film City, where she was shooting for her film Chehre. There, he got acquainted with Rumi and the two gelled well together because of their love for theatre. They initially wanted to join forces for a play inspired by a story such as Laila Majnu. However, they decided to finally collaborate for a film, with Rhea and Sushant as the lead actors.

Rhea further revealed that Sushant was very happy about it and even met with Vashu Bhagnani. She stated that Vashu and Sushant mutually decided on a 15 crore signing amount and Sushant shared the news his sister and brother in law while Rhea wasn’t present there. However, the project didn’t take off because of the lockdown.

Rhea reportedly left Sushant’s house on 8^th June after a fight. When Sushant messaged her asking about her health the next day, Rhea blocked his number as she was upset that he didn’t call her. Sushant breathed his last on 14^th June.
