Swara Bhaskar Defends Karan Johar In Nepotism Controversy, Says He Could've Deleted The Clip From KWK But Didn't

Ever since Kangana Ranaut had called Karan Johar the 'flagbearer of nepotism' in his chat show, Koffee With Karan, it had opened the gates to controversy. It caused a stir back then and after Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death, it has become a raging point on social media once again. Such had been its impact that Karan unfollowed all except four people and he resigned from the MAMI Film Festival Board as well. Now, he has found a supporter in Swara Bhaskar.

Taking to Twitter, Swara defended the director-producer and said that he could have deleted the entire portion since it was his chat show and avoided the controversy, but he didn't. She wrote, "Let’s take a moment & acknowledge that @karanjohar took this question on the chin, & answered in a candid & honest manner not taking unwarranted personal offense. Let’s also acknowledge that he didn’t have the infamous #nepotism comment removed from his chat show which he cud’ve."

Swara is also an 'outsider' since she had no roots in Bollywood. She has managed to make her mark in Bollywood and opted for projects that have strong female characters. In fact, she has also done solo lead films like Anarkali Of Arra and Nil Batte Sannata.
