Taapsee Pannu: "I've Been Replaced In A Lot Of Films By Star Kids, But I Refuse To Be Bitter About It"

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, quite suddenly, found herself in the middle of a controversy after fellow actor Kangana Ranaut took her name during an interview with a TV channel and labelled her as a 'B-grade actress'. It was just the beginning and what ensued was a war, not just of words but also on social media. Her team too did not stop taking jibes at Taapsee, claiming that she has not had a single solo hit! Kangana too had accused her of not respecting her struggle by making fun of her and also asked if the Saand Ki Aankh actress called her a 'weirdo'! Now, Taapsee has opened up about the whole insider vs outsider debate and also said it's sad that the death of a person is used for personal vendetta.

Talking to India Today, the actress said, "It's really sad that it happened after the demise of such a great talent. It is sad that it is being used as a personal vendetta by a bunch of people and I was introduced to this thing forcefully and was called out names. After a point, I felt the need to speak up and stand up for myself because you can't discredit me while finding credit for yourself."

She also opened up about the entire nepotism debate and said that even though she has been replaced by star kids quite a few times, she refuses to be bitter about it. She added, "I have been replaced in a lot of films by star kids. But I refuse to be bitter about it. I reached a point when I didn't seek validation from them. That's when I decided to make my own path. You don't need any validation, they haven't come to screenings or tweeted about them, but does that make my films bad? No. I refused to make them the power centre. They could have accelerated my career but I refuse to give them the power to harm my career."

She also added that a positive change needs to be brought in the industry and it can not be achieved by pulling down each other! Well, she does have valid points to make, isn't it?
