In the last few years, if there is one actress who has impressed us with each of her performances and made us applaud her choices, it is indisputably Taapsee Pannu. From shouldering risqué projects to holding her own fort in front of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee is surely one of the best things that have happened to Bollywood in a while.

However, the journey till here was not smooth for the actress. Recently, in an interaction, Taapsee opened up about how producers considered her to be a ‘panauti’ or bad luck charm because the films in which she played small parts did not work out well. She also revealed how some of them even refused to meet.  “Here, I have seen a lot. I have been to award shows where I have been made to sit on the sixth row because they felt I wasn't worthy of the front row,” Taapsee recalled. She further added, “A casting director once told me I was the worst thing about Chashme Baddoor. That was hurtful.”

Clearly, the casting director and all those people who undermined her are now regretting every word given Taapsee is easily one of the finest actresses in the industry right now. Some of her upcoming projects include Saand Ki Aankh and Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad. There is also a possibility of Taapsee playing the role of Mithali Raj, the captain of Indian Women Cricket Team, in her biopic.
