Taapsee Pannu To Be Cast In Samantha Akkineni’s Role In The Hindi Remake Of U Turn?

Last year Samantha Akkineni’s bilingual Tamil-Telugu thriller U-Turn turned out to be a quiet success at the box-office. Not only was Samantha praised for her performance but the film, in general, turned out to impress critics and audiences.

After being a huge success in Tamil and Telugu, the film directed by Pawan Kumar can now be made in Hindi and the casting process for the same is underway. It is being reported that Taapsee Pannu has been approached to play the role of Rachna, a junior reporter who goes on to investigate a series of mysterious deaths following people taking a U-turn on road near a flyover. It is yet to be confirmed if Taapsee has given her nod to the project or not.

Reports also claim that Samantha was first approached to reprise her role in the Hindi remake of the film but has turned down the offer. A source close to the development revealed, “For some strange reasons, Samantha is not keen to extend her popularity down South into the Hindi belt. They want her to do her role from U-Turn.  But, she is reluctant. Maybe she wants to start a family.”
