Taapsee Pannu To Play Cricketer Mithali Raj In Her Biopic?

Taapsee Pannu has been one of the fittest Bollywood stars. She has been learning a number of sports for her films. The star, who is naturally inclined towards badminton, had learnt Krav Maga for Naam Shabana and hockey for Soorma. In fact, she has also been learning sharp shooting to portray the role of one of the Tomar sisters in her upcoming film, Saand Ki Aankh. Well, she will be learning yet another sport now and this time it is cricket! And guess what is it for? Well, she will portray cricketer Mithali Raj on screen in her upcoming biopic.

Mithali Raj’s biopic had been announced back in 2017 by Viacom 18. A source close to the development had told Mumbai Mirror that the production house is in talks with the actress and that she is yet to sign the dotted lines. “The formalities will be done once the studio has a director on board. They have also locked the story but the script is till being developed,” the source was quoted.

Well, Mithali Raj is one of the highest scoring women cricketers in the world, who recently celebrated 20 years of her cricketing career. She is one of the leading cricketers to be generating runs in T20s.

The shoot will begin next year and Taapsee will be undergoing rigorous preparations to be able to do justice to the role. Are you excited with the news?
