Taapsee Shares Kangana’s Statement On Jiah Khan’s Suicide; Asks Why Her Stand Is Different In Sushant’s Case

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has sparked many parallel controversies in the Hindi film industry, including the discussion of nepotism in Bollywood and the debate on outsiders vs insiders. Amongst many others, actress Kangana Ranaut has called out ‘the self-appointed gate-keepers’ of the industry for shutting Sushant out, boycotting him and eventually driving him to take such a step. Along with many other statements, Kangana has called Swara Bhaskar and Taapsee Pannu ‘needy outsiders’ and ‘B grade actresses’, beginning a social media war of sorts.

Swara and Taapsee, who are never afraid to speak their mind just like Kangana, took to their official handles to hit back with old interviews of the actress along with contradicting statements she made in the past. In fact, when a user criticized Taapsee for not seeking justice in Sushant’s case, she shared an old news report in which Kangana had reacted to late actress Jiah Khan’s suicide case, and asked why the stand is different in Sushant’s case. She wrote: “Get the inquiry started, request the police , CBI , FBI and every agency that can help unearth the truth. Also along side help us all unearth how the logic behind suicide, depression and the reason behind that changes when it’s Jia Khan to when it is SSR.”

When Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of his girlfriend actor Jiah Khan, Kangana had told Indian Express, “Depression could be triggered by anything. You can't blame anyone else for that state of mind.”
