Tanuja’s Co-Star From Mome Ki Gudiya, Ratan Chopra Passes Away; Had Seeked Help From Akshay, Sonu Sood

Mome ki Gudiya actor Ratan Chopra, also known as Ravi Chopra passed away at the age of 70 years in his hometown in Punjab. He had been battling cancer, but his family could not afford his treatment due to poverty. Few days back, his family had also appealed for financial help from actors like Akshay Kumar and Sonu Sood, but had not gotten a response.

According to a report in Amar Ujala, he had not been keeping well for a very long time, and also lacked proper treatment. He had appealed for help from Dharmendra as well apart from Akshay Kumar and Sonu Sood. He had lauded Sonu Sood for his efforts in helping the migrants reach home during the lockdown and had hoped to receive help too. But he lost the battle today and breathed his last in Punjab’s Malerkotla. His financial condition had deteriorated so much that he had to rely on Gurudwaras for his meals in his last days. The news of his death was confirmed by his adopted daughter, Anita.

Ratan Chopra had shared screen with Tanuja in Mome Ki Gudiya in 1972. He was the lead actor in the film. He wasn’t seen much on-screen after that. May his soul rest in peace.
