Thadam remake: Mrunal Thakur challenges Aditya Roy Kapur; reveals what made her say yes to the film

Back in April this year, soon after Sidharth Malhotra opted out of Thadam’s official Hindi remake, it was reported that makers are considering Aditya Roy Kapur to headline the project, opposite Mrunal Thakur. Well, almost a month ago, makers confirmed the news when they made an official announcement of the same. While Aditya will be seen in his first ever double role in the murder mystery, Mrunal will be portraying the role of a fiery cop. A while ago today, Mrunal shared a snap with her co-star, challenging him for a face-off.

In a chat with Mid Day, the actress revealed what made her say yes to this exciting project. Mrunal was quoted saying, “When I heard the story, I instantly knew that I needed to be a part of this film. My character is intriguing, and playing a cop has been on my checklist. This will be distinct from all the characters I have played till now.” The report further suggests that the film will feature Mrunal as something much more than the male lead’s love interest, and this is another reason that made her say yes.

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, who is backing the film, revealed that Mrunal was their first choice for the Thadam remake because they wanted somebody with a soft personality, who can be strong when needed. Well, the film is all set to go on floors in Delhi in the month of October this year.
