Earlier, Kangana Ranaut showed her disappointment at major multiplex chain after they refused to screen the film because of the less time gap between the film's theatrical and OTT release. Shortly after Kangana shared a video on this, multiplex chain PVR promised to screen the Tamil and Telugu versions in the south but also appealed to the actress and the makers to keep a uniform window for the film across all languages. Thalaivii also stars Arvind Swamy and will hit the theatres on 10th September.
