    It has been over a year since a film titled 'The Intern' was announced with Deepika Padukone in the lead. It was the remake of the Hollywood film Rishi Kapoor was also cast in the film. However, after he passed away last year in April, fans and the audience had been wondering who would fill the actor's shoes. Now, we have some updates on that.

    If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Amitabh Bachchan has been approached to play the part that had been offered to Rishi Kapoor earlier. A source close to the production was quoted saying, “The Hindi remake of The Intern hit a massive roadblock with demise of the late Rishi Kapoor. This suddenly meant that the venture was missing a crucial member of the cast, and the makers had to re-analyse the casting. Though it has taken a while, the makers of The Intern remake have now locked Amitabh Bachchan for the project and are looking to resume the shoot soon. Though it is unclear when the film will finally commence shooting, talks are on with the cast members to finalize dates.”

    While Rishi Kapoor is irreplaceable and we would forever miss him create magic on the screen, fans can now hope the Piku pair to give us another gem of a film. It has also been said that Badhaai Do director Amit Sharma would be directing the film.
