    Netflix’s original film The White Tiger is earning praises across the globe for its brilliance and it has certainly catapulted lead actor Adarsh Gourav to international stardom. The 26-year-old actor from India is being praised the world over for his impressive portrayal as Balram, a driver from a small town looking to raise his ranks in the social hierarchy.

    The actor in fact recently got nominated for the Independent Spirit awards for his praiseworthy performance in the Ramin Bahrani film alongside actors like Riz Ahmed [Sound of Metal], late Chadwick Boseman [Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom], Rob Morgan [Bull] and Steven Yeun [Minari].


    His character was strongly supported by Bollywood stars like Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra in the film and Adarsh couldn’t have asked for more. The young actor speaks about sharing screen space with the two popular stars Adarsh told India Today, “To work with Raj and Priyanka, I have seen their cinema while growing up. The films that Raj has done are the kind of films that I would want to do eventually. With Priyanka, I have this connection as both of us are from Jamshedpur. Both of us are Jharkhand babies. I told her that in Mumbai I would tell people that I and Priyanka are from the same city."

    The White Tiger is based on Arvind Adiga’s Man Booker Prize winning novel of the same name and right from Hollywood to Bollywood stars can’t stop raving about it. The film hit Netflix on 22 January 2021.
