TV actor Ansh Bagri who was in at home in Delhi with his mother and sister was recently attacked outside their house in Pashchim Vihar on Saturday and has registered a police complaint. He had returned after completing the shoot of the film Vellapanti in Punjab only a few days prior to the incident.

Ansh’s house in Delhi has been under construction for a year. The actor claims the attack on him was planned by the former contactor he had after dropping off from the job also threatened his family. He tells Times Of India, “The attack was planned by a contractor who was earlier given charge of the construction of the house, but this year in March (before the lockdown), he decided to leave the work after an argument over the payment of dues.”

The issue with the contactor began last Diwali after Ansh warned him for not completing the work on time. According to him, the contractor demanded more money which the actor agreed to pay only after the work was completed. The two got into an argument before the lockdown and the contractor backed out.

The Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji actor says his mother and sister started receiving threats during the lockdown when he was stuck in Mumbai. “I was in Mumbai during the lockdown and this contractor would threaten my mother and sister and would say things like ‘ghar se uthwa lunga.’ I was scared and filed a police complaint against him in May for threatening and harassing my mother and sister and action was also taken and he was warned."

Thereafter, Ansh gave the construction work to another contractor. Recalling what happened on the day of the attack the actor said, “A few men came to my home and they said that they wanted to talk to me. I went outside and could see this contractor making a video and these men started gathering around me. I sensed something was wrong and immediately, I called the police and they said they were on their way. After asking these men what they wanted, I thought I should go back inside. As I turned, one man pushed me and around 8-10 of them started beating me up,” he stated.

The actor who sustained head injuries in the attack stated that while he was being beaten up no one came to help him and that all of them were just silently watching barring an old man and his uncle who risked their lives and intervened to stop the goons. Ansh has prior shoot commitments and has to return to Mumbai. He says, he is scared for his mother and sister who will not have anyone to take care of them after he leaves.
