Twitter User Tries To Troll Hansal Mehta At The Expense Of His Son With Down's Syndrome, Filmmaker Has A Befitting Reply

Hansal Mehta on Wednesday raised questions on the government set eligibility criteria for those who can get vaccinated as the Covid-19 cases in the country are on the rise. The filmmaker had posted picture of his 25-year-old son Pallava who has Down’s Syndrome and asked if his son, ‘wants’ or ‘needs’ the vaccine.

The filmmaker’s tweet caught a lot of attention and while several people stood by his argument and supported him, a particular user irked him by pointing fingers that he was choosing politics over his son. "Dear Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maharashtra and Mr. @mehtahansal Pallava was eligible for vaccination in the very first round when it all started as "Down Syndrome" is a disease lowering the immunity and all such cases were included. But bete ki life ya politics. Tough one,” the user wrote.

The Chhalaang director didn’t take the user’s tweet lightly and had a befitting reply for trying to troll him at his son’s expense. He wrote back, "Downs Syndrome is not a disease. Do some research. Take some time off from trolling. And understand the context of my question first before providing your parroted answers."

In his original tweet, Hansal with a photo of his son had written, “My son Pallava is 25 years old. He has Downs Syndrome. He has suffered from a near fatal respiratory failure a few years ago. Does he want the vaccine or does he need it?”

His tweet came after the government’s statement that they will first cater to those who need the vaccine instead of those who want it.
