Udaan Star Rajat Barmecha Was Disheartened Losing The Best Actor Trophy To Ranveer Singh: I Couldn't Digest The Fact

Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane’s directorial debut Udaan has completed 10 years since its release. The star of this coming of film Rajat Barmecha recalled how his 21-year-old self got jealous of band Baja Baraat actor Ranveer Singh when he lost out the Best Actor trophy to him an award show. Udaan had earned a lot of accolades for great performances and story.

Speaking to Navbharat Times Rajat revealed, "In 2013, almost all the awards went to Udaan. It even got the Best Film award. But when it came to announcing the Best Actor, it was Ranveer and not me, and I was a little disheartened at that time.”

He added, “Everyone had praised me a lot for my work in the film. Amitabh Bachchan even wrote a blog about me and Udaan. So I couldn't digest the fact that even after Udaan got the Best Film award, how was I not the best actor? I was present in each and every frame throughout the film."

Rajat however said that he was only 21 then and naïve and he finds these stories very funny. The actor also clarified that he never had any hard feeling for Ranveer and such things don’t bother him anymore.
