‘Uday Chopra and I dated for 5 years,’ reveals Nargis Fakhri; regrets keeping her relationship quiet

Relationships are a tricky business in the film industry. While some actors who are involved with someone else from the industry prefer keeping quiet about it, many other’s enjoy flaunting it. Then there are those celebs who are linked to each others for years, but they neither confirm nor deny their relationship. Well, there are very few who finally gather up enough courage to speak about their personal life openly. Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, who was reportedly in a live-in relationship with Uday Chopra, is one of them.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Nargis revealed, “Uday and I dated for 5 years and he was the most beautiful human I met in India. I never have said this to the press as people told me to keep my relationship quiet, but I regret that because I should have shouted from the mountain tops that I was with such a beautiful soul. The internet and social media is very fake and the people out there won't know what the truth is. Most often we idolise certain people who are actually bad behind closed doors.”

For the uninitiated, reports had suggested that Uday and Nargis were head over heels in love with each other and lived together at Yash Chopra's bungalow along with the actor’s mother Pamela Chopra. They never confirmed nor denied their relationship, but were often snapped together around the city and also indulged in light flirtation on social media. Back then, reports had suggested that Uday broke up with Nargis over Whatsapp because he did not want to tie the knot.
