Varun Dhawan Dhawan Applauds Sohum Shah, Actor Reciprocates

The actor joins a long list of celebrities who’ve been impressed by last year’s critically acclaimed, sleeper hit!

It’s been over six months since its release, but Sohum Shah’s Tumbbad continues to find new fans and celebrity admirers!

The film, which has been hailed from all quarters, has now left an impression on none other than Varun Dhawan. The actor happened to watch the film on an OTT platform recently and Varun was so taken in by the visual fantasy drama, he instantly took to his twitter account and wrote, “#Tumbbad is such an amazing watch. One of the best shot films to come out of our industry. Must watch.” 

In response to Dhawan’s appreciation of the film, producer Sohum Shah, who also plays the main protagonist in the film, wrote, “SO happy ki aapko #Tumbbad pasand aayi @Varun_dvn! Humbled that the magic of our film is still finding a way into people’s hearts! Shukriya ?” (sic)

Based on Indian folklore and legends, Tumbbad is a small budget film that quietly stepped into the theatres but subsequently made an impact through word of mouth and finally emerged as a sleeper hit! The film also ran in theatres for over 50 days despite stiff competition from other films.

Hailed as a technical masterpiece, Tumbbad has also been among the top winners at most of the year’s film awards shows.
