Varun Dhawan & Natasha To Have ‘Chunni Chadana’ Ceremony In Mumbai; Salman-Katrina To Perform On Sangeet

Handsome hunk Varun Dhawan made headlines when he admitted that he plans to marry long time girlfriend Natasha Dalal during an episode of Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee With Karan. Well since the past few days, their wedding has become the talk of the town. The love birds are reportedly all set to tie the nuptial knot in a grand yet simple ceremony on 24^th January at Alibaug. The function is expected to be intimate but star-studded with some very famous Bollywood superstars in attendance!

Well before Natasha and Varun leave for Alibaug with their families on 22^nd January, a special ceremony will be performed in Mumbai. In a chat with Pinkvilla, a source close to the Dhawan’s revealed, “The members of the groom’s family will visit the bride’s household with jewellery, gifts, sweets and a red-coloured outfit like a saree or lehenga-choli, along with a red chunri. The red chunri is placed over the head of the bride by her to-be mother-in-law. This ceremony is called chunni chadana which will happen in Mumbai within the families.”

Another report in Peeping Moon suggests that Varun’s mentor and filmmaker Karan Johar will be choreographing the sangeet ceremony, like he did for Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding and Ranbir Kapoor’s cousin Armaan Jain’s wedding. That’s not all! The sangeet ceremony is expected to have performances by famous actors such as Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif, sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, filmmaker and friend Shashank Khaitan, Kiara Advani, Arjun Kapoor and lady love Malaika Arora, Manish Malhotra among others.
