Varun Dhawan Starrer Ekkis To Go On Floors By The End Of September? Producer Dinesh Vijan Says Actor Would Undergo Rigorous Prep

Varun Dhawan would be treating fans with back-to-back releases quite soon. The actor is currently shooting for Bhediya and would soon start Sriram Raghavan's Ekkis after wrapping it up. Now, producer Dinesh Vijan has given us a timeline of when Ekkis, which happens to be Arun Khetarrpal's biopic, would be going on floors.

Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Dinesh called Ekkis 'most ambitious project attempted by Maddock to date' and added, "It requires rigorous prep that has already begun. Varun himself will commence prep for two and half months once he is done with Bhediya and other commitments. Sriram Raghavan is the captain of this grand ship, there’s a lot he wants to achieve here. Ekkis should go on floors till the end of the third quarter, and that’s all I can divulge for now."

We are eagerly waiting to see how Varun would bring out the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Kheterpal on screen. The young soldier was martyred at the age of 21 and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously. Talking about the kind of prep Varun would have to go through for the film, Sriram Raghavan had said in an earlier interview, “Varun has to lose weight, take the training that’s meant for army officers, spend some time at the National Defence Academy (NDA) and go through the grind to prepare for his role. We intend to start shooting in September 2021 and complete the film by January 2022, because weather-wise it works well for the film. That’s the timeline we are following right now. In the meantime, we’re also working out our plan for the VFX of the film and how scenes will be shot because we have to recreate a specific time zone.”
