    Veteran Actor Jagdeep Dies At 81, Bollywood Mourns The Loss: Thank You For All The Laughter

    Bollywood lost another gem of an actor on July 8 as veteran actor-comedian Jagdeep died at his Mumbai residence. He was 81. Well known for playing the iconic character Soorma Bhopali the actor’s death left many fans shattered while several celebrities took to social media late evening to share their condolences.

    Ajay Devgn wrote, “Heard the sad news of Jagdeep Saab’s demise. Always enjoyed watching him on screen. He brought so much joy to the audience. My deepest condolences to Jaaved and all members of the family. Prayers for Jagdeep Saab’s soul.”

    Arshad Warsi  also mourned the loss of the ace comedian, “Really sad to hear about Jagdeep sahab. What a phenomenal actor & a wonderful person. He has entertained my generation all through our growing years. He was also my reference point for Ishqiya. Thank you Jagdeep sahab... Allah aapko Jannat Naseeb farmaye –RIP”

    Adnan Sami too penned a long note devastated by the news.” I am devastated by the sad news of the Legendary Jagdeep Sahib’s passing away...”

    Several other stars and fans posted mourning the loss of the legendary actor and remembered his sons, Javed Jaffery and Naved Jaffery in their prayers. The late actor was suffering due to age related ailments.

    Jagdeep who went on to make a film titled Soorma Bhopali after his iconic Sholay character also starred in over 400 films in his illustrious career. Do Begha Zameen, Andaaz Apna Apna, Qurbani and Bombay To Goa were some of them.
