Yes, you read that right. Vicky Kaushal had auditioned for Ghanchakkar and this trivia was given out by none other than Abhishek Banerjee , who had worked in the film as the casting director. Talking to Mirror, the Stree actor said that he knew that Vicky would be a big star in the future the moment he saw him. He was quoted saying, “When I was an associate, I auditioned him for a part in (Raj Kumar Gupta’s Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan-starrer) Ghanchakkar. Everyone was intrigued by him as he was (action director) Sham Kaushal’s son. I instantly knew that he’d become a star one day.”

In fact, he takes pride in the fact that Gully Boy fame Siddhant Chaturvedi has been his ‘find’. He also said that he had auditioned Rajkummar Rao way before sharing the screen space with him in Stree. “Before sharing screen space with Rajkummar, I had tested him for a role in the 2010 film Knock Out, which was eventually played by Apoorva Lakhia.”
