    Vicky Kaushal might have turned down Uri had it not been for his father's advice, says he was 'not feeling connected to it'

    Vicky Kaushal was an emerging star in Bollywood before his film Uri: The Surgical Strike arrived and changed the game for him completely. The actor came, said ‘How’s the Josh’ and conquered the hearts of the nation playing Major Vihaan Sheirgill in the Aditya Dhar helmed the project.

    Well, did you know Vicky Kaushal wouldn’t have scored this blockbuster had it not been for his father Sham Kaushal and we certainly him to thank him for it. The actor who is currently basking in the success of Sardar Udham has revealed in an interview with Film Companion that he almost turned down Uri.


    Talking to Film Companion Vicky revealed, "Uri was something I was gonna skip. In the middle of shooting Raazi, I read the film, maybe I was tired, I went to work next day not feeling connected to it."

    Vicky, however, did have a change of heart after his father talked him into reconsidering his decision. "My dad found the script & read it. He told me it will be the biggest mistake if I didn't do it. I asked for more time. Read the script again. And got really excited to do it,” Vikcy added.

    Uri also starred, Yami Gautam, Rajit Kapur, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, Kriti Kulhari in key roles among others. The film grossed over Rs. 200 crores after releasing in theatres in 2019 and the thunderous success of the film certainly changed careers for all involved for good. Uri marked Aditya Dhar’s debut while Vicky was flooded with offers for some of the biggest films being in the industry. The actor currently has films like Mr. Lele and Sam Bahadur in his kitty.
