Vicky Kaushal spoke about the struggle aspiring actors have to go through before they make it in Bollywood. Trying to convey how stardom doesn’t come easy, Vicky tried to put the struggles an aspiring actor has to go through every day and the toll it takes on the mind. Vicky who rose in ranks in Bollywood based solely on his performances told Zoom how he was rejected in a 1000 auditions before he could get selected in 10.

Vicky told Zoom how one actor is competing against thousands every day for the same job said that the struggle is a ‘fragile phase’ for any actor. Speaking about the process of auditions he told the portal, "What people don’t realise is that if I’ve cracked 10 auditions, I've actually failed in 1,000 auditions. I got rejected in thousand auditions but I got selected in 10 but what is visible is only the 10 opportunities that I got, and sabko lagta hai ki arey yeh toh aasani se mil gaya. Woh aaisa hota nahi hai par uska maza bhi alag hai. You know the thrill is also there. You cherish your success, you cherish what you have in life far more when you see and what you’ve gone through and see more phases in that."

Vicky who is currently garnering praise for his portrayal as Sardar Udham Singh in Shoojit Sircar’s film which was released on Dussehra also spoke about the film’s OTT release and how the film’s message will reach a global audience through the platform. Vicky wants Sardar Udham to be referred to as an ‘Indian film’ as opposed to a ‘Bollywood film’ and speaking about the same he further said, "It’s kept the authenticity with Hindi, English and Punjabi and also there's the relevance of the freedom struggle, Jallianwala Bagh, and we want to tap into the Indian community all across the globe. We also want the Britishers to be able to watch the film to realise what kind of past we've gone through and what they have done in the past that they’re answerable for. Counting all these factors, I think it’s the best that the film is coming on an OTT release."

Vicky’s film is focused on the life of Indian revolutionary Sardar Udham Singh who avenged the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy by killing British general Michael O’Dwyer in 1940 and was later handged to death for the same by the British authorities.
