Vijay Deverakonda Argues His Upcoming Film 'Fighter' Is Not His Bollywood Debut

Vijay Deverakonda is all set to star in with Karan Johar’s multilingual film, Fighter but the Telugu actor who is currently in Europe clearly doesn’t see it as his Bollywood debut but more like an exciting upcoming project

“It’s not designed as my debut vehicle. Nor am I looking at it as a leap into a new zone. I don’t think Bollywood is a separate entity from the cinema in the rest of the country. Not anymore at least. Cinema from all over the country is being seen and noticed. So I’d say Fighter is one more exciting project for me,” Vijay tells Spoteboye.

The film’s shooting was put on hold since the Coronavirus pandemic, with major action scenes that were yet to be shot by director Puri Jagannath. Just as the lockdown restrictions were eased and the new guidelines were introduced by the govt, the film industry geared up to get back at work. One of which we have Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions that is resuming its shooting with the Vijay Deverakonda starrer.

A source close to the project says, “This was bound to happen. Karan Johar’s production house is in the process of getting all the pending projects back on its feet. Deverakonda’s film was the most affected. They have shot some excellent action scenes with Vijay. There were at least three more major stunts to be shot. According to the source,  the shooting of the film may move to Hyderabad since that’s where Vijay and the director Puri Jagannath are located.

The film Fighter also features Ananya Panday alongside Vijay. The actress was last seen in Khaali Peeli opposite Bollywood’s new heartthrob Ishaan Khattar
