Vijay Deverakonda calls Rs. 200 crores offer for digital release of Liger 'too little', says "I'll do more in the theaters"

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger is one pan-Indian film that is highly anticipated. With the OTT platforms leading the entertainment scene this year, reports have been doing the rounds that the makers of Liger have been receiving big offers to skip theatrical release entirely and release the film directly on digital.

According to reports, the makers of Liger were offered Rs. 200 crores by a leading digital streaming platform for release on digital. The movie’s star Vijay Deverakonda however, has reacted to these reports and set the record straight.

Replying to a social media post reporting the Rs. 200 crores offer, Vijay wrote, "Too little. I'll do more in the theaters."

We definitely love Vijay’s confidence in the theatrical performance of the film and it just makes fans more eager to see him in the film.

The movie helmed by Puri Jagannadh was earlier announced to release in theatres on September 9. After the second wave, the makers of the film are yet to confirm if they hope to stick to the release date.

Well, safe to see that we’ll be meeting Liger in theatres. The movie will be releasing in five Indian languages, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
